Mid-term holidays in KL and Perth

We arrived in KL near midnight 12 Jun Fri, Ping picked us and have been eating ever since arriving. Had good supper - fried kueh teow, loh mee, dimsum and hokkien mee at Bandar Puchong food court followed by durian at home. Slept at nearly 3am.
First day we had good kolo mee, Shelby asked if we can cook like that at home. Ha ha if only. Also met up with Uncle Ong and May but the kids missed it.
Had George's shoes fixed by the cobbler which he is extremely please about except having to wait for us at Janice's saloon where Shelby had her facial and I had my nails done, despite the Star newspaper and a cosy sofa and aircond he can enjoyed.

Family dinner at Klang Seafood, the whole family 20 of us. We had to split to 2 tables.

Sunday worship at the Community Baptist Centre Puchong followed by lunch and IOI shopping.

Kids trying 'lok-lok' (food on skewers) that need to be boiled and eaten at the side stalls.

Took Airasia-X to Perth 15/6 early morning. Space is limited, everything in the plane is cramp but we survived the 5 hours journey. It was good to be back in Perth, weather was cold. House was clean but behind let-out was in bad shape.

Mom has been cooking and we had lots of meals at 79 Kilkenny. It was a good time to catch up with them after 1 & 1/2 years.

The children had a good day out at the Art Gallery, Musuem and Sci-Tech West Perth followed by the King's Park.
Yumcha with Dinh, Jerald, Janet and Jumeira. Then they came over, met up with James, Gary & family at home.

Grandma arranged a family dinner at Uncle Shaw's home, saw Irene, Roy and Matilda.
Sunday worship at the Faith Community Church in Murdoch. It is a big church with many young people, there is children service that runs concurrently with the adult's worship. George, Shelby, Leonard & mum visited the farm but Sandra & mummy walked around Waterford.

Fish and chips lunch at Cicerello, Fremantle. We were disappointed that Mac Donald is no longer in Freo, we always have ice-cream there even though its winter. George and the children had fun having hands-on fishing with a couple who were fishing herrings and garfish.

We had Nasi Lemak in Uncle Richard's house and saw many cousins whom I have not seen before. Children took a picture with great-grandmother. Enjoyed playing games on the X-Box 360. Everyone had fun hearing the little one singing, drumming and plucking the guitar.

The last night, mum took us to Golden Mile restaurant, not a place George like. It was drizzling and windy but we walked in the cold to the river across the overhead bridge.
We rested the whole day after arriving from Perth. We had very good shopping in Sunway Jusco where there was a one day sale many things were down by 50 - 70%. Everyone had a share in the shopping.

We went to KLCC the last day in KL. George took all kids to Petrosains and Dino-trek while Laura and I shopped more.

Rose back to the Philippines

Our helper Rose went back to the Philhippines for good after completing 2 contracts with us. She made a wise decision to be and to take care of her children back in East Samar. We are all going to miss her as she is like a part of us whom we see from the moment we wake til the end of the day. She has seen Leonard grew up from 3+ to he is now 7 1/2 yo. She has contributed much into our family, we appreciate most of her honesty and trustworthiness.

George and Leonard drove her to KK today, also to check on the house. Rose took a boat to Temburong and met them there. All went well. Rose cried all the way. Back home we had a heavy heart, not of the work left but of the thoughts of not going to see her anymore. Sandra cried last night, she has this routine of hearing Auntie Rose slippers in the afternoon when she brings the clothes into the room after ironing and thats when the activities start for the evening.

Inter-school Competition

Our least expected princess has ventured into a totally different field. This morning, she asked if she should go for training as an athlete. I was not keen for her to be exposed to the harsh weather. Leonard said she will get a lot of vit D, thats cute. I was thinking more of the adverse effects of the sun!

Our girl who used to be bystander when it came to games and competition as she was very afraid of winning or losing, hence she rather not take part at all. She has now grown out of her fear and independently expound on her potential with her teacher's encouragement and assistance. We today managed to witness Sandra winning and proving her talent.

Gold medal 4 x 100m girls won by Chung Hwa Middle School. Team members - Danica, Hidayah, .. & Sandra. There were happy smiles on everyone's face.

100m girls was also won by CHMS - Sandra.

Sprinter in the family

Sandra has been busy practising running with the school. She is doing 4 x 100m and 100m sprint. Surprisingly she can run fast. She had a few medals from various competitions and been on stage to receive her medals. Today is another big event at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium, Inter school competition.
She slept very early last nite to prepare herself and I almost forgot to wake her up this morning. Had a good chat with her just mother and daughter at breakfast. She was a bit scared but I believe all will go well for her.

The tree grew

This tree was given by Uncle Ong to Shelby when it was a little seedling, 8 - 9 mths ago. We have transferred it downstairs and look at how much it has grown, it has new life. Same thing happens to us in our life. When we are nurtured well and given a good environment to grow showered with the love of God and the love of one another, we can live life abundantly just like this tree

Leonard giving daddy a massage

Last Sunday, daddy felt very lazy and wanted to read then take an afternoon nap. Leonard was not tired and pestered daddy to go mountain climbing. He was disturbing daddy by rocking on his back indirectly giving daddy a massage. Shelby was playing piano in the background. In the end, we all went to Damuan Park for a walk instead of mountain climbing.
